City hall

An Ice Bear® 50 system was installed at Victorville City Hall in Victorville, California on July 18, 2005. This installation displaces a total of 7.5 Tons of load at times between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM shifting approximately 35 kW of air-conditioning energy from peak to off-peak.

Fire station

Anaheim's municipal electric utility wanted to reduce on-peak demand and selected the city’s Fire Station Number 8 for testing and benchmarking of the Ice Bear 50® Distributed Energy Storage System. Following installation of the Ice Bear 50® module, test results demonstrated that the unit slashed on-peak demand to a mere 300 watts—roughly a 95% decrease of on-peak demand.

Library

The Azusa Library installation was completed on 1/31/06 and took 10 days including the installation of a brand new 5 ton roof top package unit. The Ice Bear® system displaces one Trane 5-Ton roof top unit.

Office

Ice Energy installed one Ice Bear® 50 on the City of Fort Collins’ facilities building on January 18, 2005 to shift a 5-Ton rooftop air-conditioning system. The unit has performed very well, shifting over 6 kW of energy to evening hours for the last year and a half.

Activities Center

The LADWP Boyle Heights Activity Center installation was completed on 10/27/05. The Ice Bear® system displaces half of an existing Carrier 10-Ton, two circuit roof top unit.

Sports Park

The system at Glendale Sports Park was installed over a four day period and the unit was commissioned on 7/28/05. The Ice Bear® unit was integrated into an existing Carrier 5-Ton, 3-phase 208V split system and was programmed to melt ice when cooling is called for between noon and 8:00 PM and to make ice from 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM.
