Ice Energy Provides Cox Enterprises with Hybrid Cooling Systems in Southern California
Nine Ice Bear Units at Two Cox Subsidiaries Expected to Reduce Carbon Emissions by 33 Tons

Windsor, Colo. – November 15, 2007 – Ice Energy®, the premier provider of hybrid cooling technologies, today announced that Cox Enterprises has installed nine Ice Bear® systems at two of the company’s operations: Manheim California (formerly California Auto Dealers Exchange) facility in Anaheim, California and Cox Communications in San Diego, California. The nine Ice Bear systems are fully operational and will comprehensively reduce the facilities’ peak load by 85 kW. The systems will reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by 33 tons and nitrogen oxide emissions by 90 lbs, the equivalent of taking approximately 10 cars off the road each year.

“Cooling is the single largest contributor to the blackouts, high electricity bills, increased air pollution and a host of other problems associated with summer’s peak electricity demand. Our technology provides a direct and immediate solution by shifting electricity consumed by air conditioning systems to off-peak hours when power is cleaner and more efficiently delivered,” said Frank Ramirez, CEO of Ice Energy. “There is a significant opportunity for other telecommunications and commercial facilities to follow Cox’s lead in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while improving the reliability and sustainability of our nation’s power grid.”

Manheim is the world’s leading provider of vehicle remarketing services. Through its 91 wholesale operating locations in North America, Manheim impacts every stage of a used vehicle’s life cycle, helping commercial sellers and automobile dealers realize the full value of their vehicles.

“Manheim California is excited to implement Ice Energy’s innovative technology that will improve the cooling in our facility while reducing our electricity bills,” said Tim Van Dam, general manager of Manheim California. “The Ice Bear system will keep our facility and customers comfortable while helping the company reduce stress on the grid and meet its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

Manheim California will take advantage of the Anaheim Public Utility’s pioneering peak shifting incentive program. Through the program, Manheim California will receive a rebate to cover a majority of the initial costs of the products and installation. The company will also be enrolled in a Time-of-Use rate structure that delivers ongoing savings for the reduction of peak demand. As a result, the Ice Bear units will help Manheim California save an estimated 27 percent on its annual electricity bill.

The Cox Communications facility that will utilize the Ice Bear system in San Diego is a repeater station housing critical broadband communication equipment that requires continuous high-performance cooling. The Cox facility is equipped with back-up batteries and generators to provide power for the communication equipment during power failures. The new Ice Bear units will provide critical cooling, even throughout power loss events. Using only a fraction of the power normally required, the system prevents damage to the equipment and improves the reliability of the building operations.

Manheim and Cox Communications both participate in Cox Conserves - a national corporate program that includes Cox Enterprises’ six major subsidiaries. The program enables and encourages Cox’s 80,000 employees and families to engage in eco-friendly practices that reduce energy use and promote sustainability. Since 2000, Cox Enterprises has reduced its energy consumption by 10 percent while growing at nearly 12 percent a year. Building on this success, the goal of Cox Conserves is to reduce its energy consumption by an additional 20 percent by 2017.
