Joseph T. Gorman Joins Ice Energy Board of Directors
Mr. Gorman, a renowned business leader, who served as chairman
and CEO of TRW Inc. from December 1988 through his retirement
in January 2001, has accepted a position on Ice Energy's
board. Mr. Gorman had been TRW's president and COO since
1985. Mr. Gorman is currently director of Alcoa Inc., the
Procter and Gamble Company, National City Corporation, and
Imperial Chemical Industries PLC.
Mr. Gorman was a trustee of the Malcolm Baldrige National
Quality Award Foundation and the Committee for Economic Development,
served on the Board of Directors of United Way Services and
served as co-chairman of the Business Roundtable. He is also
a member of the President’s Export Council, the Council on
Foreign Relations, the President’s Advisory Group of the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, the Business Roundtable’s Policy and
Planning committees, and the National Bureau of Economic Research.
Mr. Gorman serves on the boards of the U.S.-China Business
Council and The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders
Forum, and is a trustee of the Center for Strategic and
International Studies. He also served on the Council for
Competitiveness as a co-industry vice chair and member of
the executive committee. A past member of the U.S-Japan
Business Council, Mr. Gorman received Japan’s 1994 Prime
Minister’s Trade Award for his contributions to promoting
improved U.S.-Japanese trade relations.
Mr. Gorman has a B.A. from Kent State University and a
J.D. from Yale Law School. His numerous civic involvements
include trustee of both the Cleveland Clinic Foundation
and the Cleveland Playhouse, and member of the Business-Higher
Education Forum, the Kent State University Foundation and
the Yale Alumni Association.
